Embarcadero Advisors is a commercial real estate advisory and investment firm based in San Francisco with over two decades of experience in select markets across the country. Our team of seasoned professionals focus on the design and implementation of unique strategies that mitigate risk and maximize asset value.

Our portfolio includes various asset classes including retail, high-rise and suburban office properties, medical facilities and industrial complexes.

Our team creates individually tailored solutions that connect all stages through the life of an investment, from acquisition to disposition. Our goal is to increase investor returns by synthesizing brokerage, due diligence, venture structure, construction, leasing, along with asset and property management.

Leadership Team
Michael G. Day
Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Michael Day is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Embarcadero Advisors. Michael graduated from Texas A&M University in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. He also studied business administration at the University of Houston, Graduate Studies Program. Michael has been involved in various industry organizations, including the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), and the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM).
With over twenty five years of experience in commercial real estate, Michael serves as the lead advisor to the firm’s clients and is responsible for the development of customized property management solutions, asset repositioning and investment strategies.
Prior to forming Embarcadero Advisors in 2002, Michael was a partner at Trammell Crow Company where he oversaw all of the firm’s San Francisco assets. Michael is the Broker of Record for the firm.
Laura Allen
Director of Asset Management
Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Laura earned her Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Saint Mary’s College of California. She is also a candidate for the Certified Commercial Investment Manager designation through the CCIM Institute. As the lead of our asset management division, Laura coordinates the management of over 200,000 square feet of office, retail and medical office buildings in California, Texas and Virginia.
Laura has extensive experience in leasing, brokerage, and management and brings a holistic understanding of commercial real estate management practices. In tandem with the CEO, Laura assists in the formation the investment strategies for Embarcadero Advisors. Laura is also a licensed real estate agent in the state of California. She has been with Embarcadero Advisors for six years.
Madeline Bresnahan
Director of Finance
A San Francisco local, Madeline holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from California State University East Bay. She worked her way through undergrad serving in the US Coast Guard and was stationed in Bodega Bay, CA. After graduation, Madeline went on to obtain her MBA from The University of Maryland.
Before joining Embarcadero Advisors, she worked in government contracting as a Project Manager and Operations Consultant. Madeline has experience in both the public and private sectors and is responsible for overseeing the firm’s financial operations from asset accounting to investment financing. As our leader of finance, she is responsible for managing the operational accounting of all the assets in our portfolio encompassing the day to day activity with the holistic view of the long-term asset goals and requirements. Madeline has been with Embarcadero Advisors for two years.
